"When I'm painting I'm fulfilling my 'life contract,' doing what it is I know I am here to do. I sense a connection to the earth and its mystery when I hold the materials in my hands, and I become one with the work when everything is free to flow. It's there in the painting where our spirits connect."

Janice Wall found her love for drawing difficult to transfer to painting at first. After years of working in watercolor, acrylic and mixed media, she discovered the magic of pastels and never looked back. When held in her hand, the soft sticks of pure color render landscape with energy, mood and heart. Now Jan says she is delighted to be able to paint and scribble at the same time.

Janice Wall is a Signature Member of the Northwest Pastel Society,
an Associate Painter of Plein Air Washington,
